Chris Cordova - President
CRC Duties – Aside from his duties as President, Chris serves CRC as a consultant, analyst and market researcher, working with marketing and planning organizations at both the local and national levels. His areas of expertise include a wide-ranging spectrum of all aspects of market research and development including research and strategic planning, statistical data analysis applications, fundraising, project development and project management. Chris has spent more than decade working for tribes and is considered an expert on Native American issues.
Team Role – Chris is a natural-born leader who serves the team with his charisma and good humor. He is open to new ideas and loves working with people from all walks of life. Chris also has a sensitive side, though he tries to hide it, and he is extremely generous. He particularly enjoys projects that will serve the community in some way, such as the survey CRC recently conducted for Joy Junction.
Education/Experience – Chris holds degrees in Marketing and Travel and Tourism Management from the University of New Mexico. He has conducted numerous seminars and regularly guest lectures on research methodologies at both New Mexico State University and the University of New Mexico. He has presented workshops on research methodology in Portland, Oregon for the National Scenic Byways Conference, in Acapulco, Mexico for the Travel and Tourism Research Association, and in communities throughout New Mexico. He has been published in the Journal of Travel Research and in many other tourism industry venues. Chris’ breadth of experience includes a number of prestigious positions, including Research Director for The New Mexico Tourism Department, Marketing Director for the New Mexico State Fair (1995-96), New Mexico Visitor Center Director (1997) and Vice President of a Washington, DC based lobbying firm (1998-1999).
Personal – Chris’ motto is “Work hard, play harder!” He spends his free time in any activity involving music, his lifelong passion. You can often catch him playing piano with his Jazz/R&B quartet (The Cave Ensemble) or with Group Therapy, a Blues/R&N band made up of local legends. He also has a penchant for historic preservation (remodeling old adobes) and is working on his fourth remodel now. Chris loves to show off this work in his adobe home in the Village of Placitas. He frequently entertains there, throwing easygoing parties for his friends and family.
Elizabeth Cordova – Director of Marketing and 8(a) Manager
CRC Duties – Elizabeth joined CRC in the spring of 2009 to oversee the project management division of CRC. Her duties include project management, marketing, grant writing, federal contracting and client management. In addition, she will often oversee market research projects and conduct market analysis.
Team Role – Elizabeth is a stickler for timeliness and organization. Her role is to coordinate projects and resources in-house and to serve as a conduit between the research and consultation divisions. She was brought on to provide new insights and a fresh approach to a successful consulting/market research firm.
Education/Experience – Elizabeth graduated from the University of Washington with degrees in Economics and Sociology. Her educational focus was International Economics. In addition, she has over ten years of experience in the market research field and has managed numerous studies.
Personal – Elizabeth leads an active life and enjoys dancing, conversation, films and seeing friends. Since joining the company she has focused much of her time on her career and approaches life with inquisitiveness, frankness and zest. She loves to spend time with her dog Bartok (named after the famous composer!), inviting him along whenever possible.
Michelle Young – Senior Research Analyst
CRC Duties – Michelle has served as a Research Analyst with CRC since 2003. She has a background in marketing, market research and travel/tourism research. She is responsible for all research fieldwork and can field a research project from survey design to completion.
Team Role – Michelle is the stabilizing force in the office. She is an amiable person by nature and naturally balances the office environment. She also works well with people from all walks of life and focuses on each task with true dedication and commitment.
Education/Experience – Michelle graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Marketing. She has spent the last six years perfecting her use of statistical software. She has received extensive individualized training in all aspects of market research and has managed focus group recruitment, as well as phone, mail, and internet surveys, including survey development, field management, and statistical analysis.
Personal – Michelle enjoys being active and has been a runner since high school. She thrives on family and her sense of humor and personal organization. Her life balance is the envy of everyone around her. She provides the glue that keeps the CRC staff sane.
